Tweet and Follow Button Design Updated:

Today I noticed in this blog www.btips.net that the Twitter tweet button is looking different.Then I made some research on it and knew that on December yesterday Twitter updated both Twitter Tweet and Twitter follow.This  Design update is made to make follow buttons look similar to Tweet buttons.

How New Twitter Tweet Button Looks

Here is a screenshot of both new and old Twitter Tweet Button .

New and Old Twitter Tweet Button

The old button was A blue tweet bird and tweet word on Light sky blue background. In the updated button The background is light gray ( may be 5% or 10% gray or silver whatever you say).The new tweet button looks great compared to old tweet button.

Improvements in this New Tweet Button

There are few technical improvements in this Design update

• Switching from button sprites to HTML & CSS which will bring better accessibility, readability, and language support for more locales.
• Improved mobile and retina display support for the iPhone.

Drawbacks of this Twitter Tweet Button update

• Old Customization effects (I frame and JavaScript and) will not work any more.
• In old Tweet button The Tweet count was in a transparent background but now it is on a White background, Which may not suite many Page Designs and layouts
